Redhouse Fusion back on top.

..which was no surprise, but the real surprise was Independent FC finishing bottom, while the “B” team fared well overall with a victory over the “A” team to conclude the competition.

Sassco, as expected finished a distant second to Redhouse Fusion, having been hammered 8-2 in the deciding game v Fusion. Team IND (the “B’s”) only suffered a 5-0 loss to Fusion, while Independent FC kicked off the tournament leaking 10 goals against 1 to Redhouse Fusion.

In between these, Sassco recorded hard fought wins over Independent FC and Team IND, but Fusion were by far the strongest team and took home the April trophy.

An excellent showing by all the teams in 20°C heat at the excellent Washington Galleries facilities. All the teams were impeccably kitted out (without even being asked to) and having a qualified referee for a change (Marcus from LD Towns) helped keep the games flowing with no problems or hiccups.

Washington Leisure Centre was re-launched and opened in May 2015 under the Everyone Active name. The centre, has  a six-lane 25 metre swimming pool. It also contains a multi-purpose sports hall across two levels and a gym, four-court sports hall, two glass backed squash courts, and a health suite containing a sauna and steam rooms. The centre also offers group exercise classes and kids parties. The highlight of the venue is several 5-a-side outdoor courts with the latest 3G pitches.

Sometimes the car park is full, it’s best to park at ASDA or the Bowling Alley and walk round as it’s difficult to park in the centre car park.
