Won on goal difference over Carpet Centre Elites.

Another solid tournament, but now with two teams a step above the rest.

Woven Inc., Sassco.co.uk and Team Independent all suffered defeats against the top two teams, who played out a tough 2-2 draw. Hylton Castle’s goal difference saw them take the trophy. Fusion were unable to take part in this one, so it would have been interesting to see how they would have fared.

Sassco and Team Independent opened the session with a steady win for Sassco, while Carpet Centres Elite demolished Woven. It was then a case of each team winning, with Sassco, Woven and Independent filling the bottom 3 slots in order, as Elites and Hylton Castle, who were forced to play three games in a row in searing 28°C heat, won handsomly. The critical tie came midway, as both fought out a tenacious 2-2 draw.

However, as goal difference counted, Hylton had put a number of goals past Woven and Independent and both had put 5 away against Sassco, so Hylton took the June Title.

Washington Leisure Centre was re-launched and opened in May 2015 under the Everyone Active name. The centre, has  a six-lane 25 metre swimming pool. It also contains a multi-purpose sports hall across two levels and a gym, four-court sports hall, two glass backed squash courts, and a health suite containing a sauna and steam rooms. The centre also offers group exercise classes and kids parties. The highlight of the venue is several 5-a-side outdoor courts with the latest 3G pitches.

Sometimes the car park is full, it’s best to park at ASDA or the Bowling Alley and walk round as it’s difficult to park in the centre car park.
