Is this to be Sassco's last ever game on an 11-a-side pitch? Unlikely.

Painful defeat in the searing heat. Age takes it’s toll.

So, He Who Cannot Be Named didn’t actually turn up. Campbell then refused to show complaining about “gayness.” Eventually, my team line up, written on the back of a cigarette packet, was modified. Muers had already only agreed to play if he was in goal as player power seems to be rearing it’s head up in these friendlies. Both Muers and Campbell are dropped for the next game…next Summer.

We were playing our old rivals, DFC, who defeated us last season 5-4, so it wasn’t a surprise that we succumbed to 4-1 defeat. Didn’t seem that way early in the second. Macca had humiliatingly been dumped out of attack after faltering and failing, to be shoved in at the back. Stoker replaced him up front and the response was immediate. We wasted chances and only Simma, playing on the wings slotted home late on.

Last game until next Summer for Sassco. Decent turnout for the two games, with Greenwell deciding to show his tash, along with McConville and Pea.

Mac, Muers and Stoker contemplate retirement at half-time. Reay (or James) takes on Sangha.
