Play on the Pitch 2025 on 2nd June 7pm.
It’s been 7 years since I cleared the ball off the line with my leg(?) against our Icelandic comrades, Knattspyrnufélagið Þróttur. Since then the Play on the Pitch scheme wasn’t attended by Sassco.co.uk
However, it’s back on, so we are looking at attending, despite the abhorrent increase in costs. The cost for a single team is around £3000. We have the following players confirmed and will close this off when 15 or 16 sign up with the £50 deposit – ironically, only 1 player (Sangha) remains from the previous line up.

Therefore, a squad of 15 or 16 will be around £200 to £187 per person (in total). We’re looking at a deposit of £50 from everyone. If anyone paying the deposit drops out, then it’s not returned as everyone else has to pay the extra. If they get a replacement then it would be okay.
We are scheduled to play David Murton’s Tyne Wear Waste Management representative team.
The calcs are as follows, depending on how we do this. This is open to all players so we’ll have an eclectic bunch available.
