We will be playing Northern League opponents, West Auckland Town FC. The venue is Gateshead’s 3G artificial turf.
West Auckland are the same famous club which was founded in 1893. They are widely regarded as the first World Cup winners after memorable exploits which saw ‘West’ win the Sir Thomas Lipton trophy outright after a second trip to Italy where they defeated Juventus 6-1.

The 25th is going to be a very busy day for Sassco. We actually have a game against Northern Alliance Rutherford AFC (lost 1-0 last season) on the same day. I’m trying to get the Rutherford game on at 11:00am, so it’s likely we’ll have a very large squad if players cannot manage two games. I’ll possibly call on some ex-players and players from the 6-a-side to help out if necessary.
