Nearly there.

Late strike for AA sees off Redhouse Youth’s.

Sporting Redhouse 4 Castletown FC 0
A strong looking Sporting side easily bludgeoned Castletown FC, who seem to be struggling. Logan’s suffering under the pressure of management and it’s only time before he cracks and starts shooting people. He was on his backside several times as his charges left gaps at the back for Sporting to exploit. Sporting were so overwhelmed with the win, that they forgot the second game against Sassco. Fatboy Tanj failed to read his text messages properly which meant that, he had to concede the second encounter to Sassco without even kicking a ball.

AA Fabrications 1 Redhouse Youth’s 0
The Youth’s seem to be going no where and lacking interest. They suffered another kit fine (for Coyne) and look as if they are just playing out the rest of their games. AA are heading for the Title. A late strike in the last minute settled the game. They even had the energy for a friendly against a Sassco team which is now a precursor to the Murton / Griffiths / Robinson project on Wednesday. A highly overconfident team who are desperate to ape the achievements of Marine House many years ago.

Wear Consulting 3 Hendon Rovers 2
Tyzack, despite signalling his intentions to quit, put out another good performance to lead 2-0 against Hendon (who also suffer a kit fine). Hendon actually made a comeback to 2-2 with two quick second half goals, but Tyzack raced away to score the winner .

This time it’s No Trigger, as he gives away two goals.

AA suffer their first defeat of the season.

Sassco.co.uk 1 Wear Consulting 0
Gary Tyzack was bludgeoned into getting a team out for the first of two games, and he played it wisely by remaining at the back. Eventually, when he did push forward, Sassco broke with Stephen Lewis, making his first appearance for Sassco since dropping the team in it for the Cup Final, hammering home a Murton cross. Sassco did dominate as the Wear team was almost unrecognisable from the one which took part earlier in the season.

Hylton Castle 2 AA Fabrications 0
A A powerful Hylton Castle side faced AA, who were without Tommy Bell. AA were set for the Title, after their impressive win over Sporting in the last set of their games, but they found Kev “One Eyed Gordon Banks” McClusky in fine form. Trigger was to blame for both goals, but he spent the night complaining about the referee. No, Trigger, No.

Wear Consulting 2 Castletown FC 0
Tyzack caught Castletown cold as they won their second game 2-0. Both teams were evenly matched, but Castletown had Logan to thank for not conceding anymore. However, he was at fault for the opening goal and will spend the night self harming himself again.

Wear Consulting 3 Redhouse Youth’s 0
The above match was awarded as Youth’s forced the abandonment of three games last week as they were unable to get a side out.

Yes, Trigger defies the “clap” to grab a hat-trick.

Sporting pushed aside. Hylton Castle defeat Castletown. Murton’s misses don’t affect Sassco.

Sassco.co.uk 6 Hendon Rovers 0
Four goals from David “Jimmy” Raeper papered over the misses from the returning Murton. Sassco actually started with five men, as Dan Campbell, leisurely strolled down the hill before realising they were short. Before he came on, Sassco were 1-0 ahead and never really looked back. Lax defending was covered by Simma, as he made several saves. An good win for Sassco in the warm evening.

Hylton Castle 4 Castletown FC 1
A very controversial goal for Hylton Castle reduced a normally calm Steve Logan into a gibbering one eyed wreck. “If that’d happened to Hylton Castle or Sporting, it would have been disallowed.” he exclaimed. The game wore on and a demoralised team, who also suffered a kit fine (told you, Logan, white shorts and white socks, you can’t go wrong), conceded more goals, despite getting a consolation.

AA Fabrications 3 Sporting Redhouse 1
Forget the Arsenal and Liverpool meaningless game – this is the one to watch. AA were inspired by an itchy, clap infested, Yes Trigger, who scored from an acute angle to give AA the lead in the first half. Sporting equalised in the second, but that man again, Yes Trigger, pulled the trigger to make it 2-1 and finished the game off with a superb, curled goal to take it to 3-1. At the opposite spectrum – a clearly out of touch Scott “Beem” Johnstone spent the game posing for the camera, which took several snaps of him either falling over or losing the ball. With AA racing away with the Title, Josh Lay claimed that he might no longer play in the league as the opposing teams are simply too poor to be even considered as competitive.

Sassco.co.uk 5 Hendon Rovers 2
Only two games were played the previous week. The first one saw Sassco come from behind to run out 5-2 winners, with Jimmy Raeper getting two of those goals. The game saw a return for Wayne Ramsay, who broke his leg on the same pitch a good few months ago.

Redhouse Youth’s 3 Downhill Impact 1
On the same night, Redhouse Youth’s got their faltering campaign back on track with a good 3-1 win over a one eyed Logan.

Hylton Castle 3 Wear Consulting 0
Redhouse Youth’s 3 Wear Consulting 0

Both the above games were awarded as Wear Consulting were the only side who couldn’t put a team out, despite suspicion that only one out of the set of players who defeat Hylton Castle in the previous game, normally plays 11-a-side.

AA back on track in style!

Josh Lay claims that Hylton Castle would be “better off had they not turned!”

Brief videos of AA Fabrications v Hylton Castle (including a Cam on Ryan McNaught.)

Sassco.co.uk 0 Redhouse Youth’s 0
Last week’s win over the Youth’s and draw with AA was no flash in the pan. This time, Sassco, minus Jimmy Raeper and Muers, held on tight and comfortable in a 0-0 draw against the Youth’s who were lacking Ramsay and Kurt. Both teams could have won it and both were comfortable, so a 0-0 draw was fair enough.

Sporting Redhouse 4 Downhill Impact 0
Even a returning Logan couldn’t prevent Sporting for racking up a high score. Both the Mouat’s elected to remain with Sporting, despite Wear Consulting coming back, and it seems as they have landed on their feet.

AA Fabrications 5 Hylton Castle 1
A very surprising scoreline, especially if you watched the match. Hylton Castle had a barnstorming opening, with Danny Hodgson thinking he was Ronaldinho. Also, with Bell missing, it seemed as if Hylton were ready to kickstart their attempt to retain the Title. But it was “Yes, Trigger” who broke away to fire the opener and by the end of the second half, they were 5-0 up. Woody with two and “Yes, Trigger” with three. Hylton Castle scored a penalty late on. Ryan McNaught rolled back the years with a masterful performance which stuck two fingers up at his critics.

Wear Consulting 1 Hendon Rovers 0
It was left to Gary Tyzack to pick up the pieces and set an example as his much weaker Consulting team controlled their game against Hendon. Tyzack scored a superb opener in the second half and the score remained that way. Wayne Ramsay, after his shocking injury only a few months back, was making a return as goalkeeper. Hendon had chances late on but Wear were overall comfortable, despite the single goal scoreline.

Two outstanding performances from Sassco.co.uk.

Muers being the unlikely hero. Sporting defeat the Champions. Hendon and Impact all square.

Sassco.co.uk 2 Redhouse Youth’s 1
Bottom team, Sassco.co.uk, finally got off the mark with an unexpected win over Redhouse Youth’s. Normally with Mark Muers making an appearance, Sassco always lost. However, this time he was the hero of the hour when he scored a superb volley to equalise. Titch Conlin then went on to grab the winner.

Sporting Redhouse 3 Hylton Castle 1
A strong looking Sporting Redhouse teams secured a 3-1 win over the Champions with some excellent goals. The loss for Castle was their second in a row and has dented their ambitions to retain the Title. Tarnjit Sangha was making a debut appearance in goal for Sporting this season and pulled off some excellent saves. Both Mouats, Paul and Keith were on for Sporting as Wear Consulting had been removed from the League for cancelling too many games. Gary Tyzack is now black listed from operating as Manager within the Sassco League due to poor management skills.

Sassco.co.uk 2 AA Fabrications 2
Sassco were forced to play two games as Wear Consulting had been removed from the League. This didn’t seem to affect them as they were 2-0 up against the 100% AA, who up until that point had failed to concede a goal. But, when Ryan McNaught waddled on to the pitch, subsequently making a fool of himself, Sassco could taste blood. Muers again was on the scoresheet – this time with a brilliant side step which deceived his marker before he lashed it into the back of the net. A high looping ball, deflected off Danny Lay, was Sassco’s opening goal. The favourites stepped up a gear and Wooton scored in the second half to reduce the arrears. AA then scored in the dying seconds to prevent Sassco from walking away with a famous win. Sassco still remain rooted to the foot of the table.

Hendon Rovers 1 Downhill Impact 1
Both teams cancelled each other out. Hendon Rovers opened the scoring, but almost immediately, Impact (minus Logan) equalised.

Josh Lay claims the “Title is ours!” after AA trounce Sporting.

A weakened Wear Consulting shock the Champions 1-0.

Brief video of Tyzack’s goal for Wear Consulting against Hylton Castle.

Castletown AFC 2 Sassco.co.uk 1
Logan’s more than useful Castletown team defeated a moribund Sassco team 2-1. Despite the strong firepower of Neil Richardson, Paul Stokoe and Michael Conlon, Sassco failed to get past Logan until it was too late. Richardson scored the superb equaliser, but moments later, Castletown went back ahead from the kick off. Thanks to Lee “Yes, Trigger” Melia for refereeing the first half as stand in referee, Ken Street was late.

AA Fabrications 3 Sporting Redhouse 0
A boisterous Josh Lay claimed that the “Title is ours!” after a resounding win over Sporting Redhouse. Goals came from Lay and Wooton (2). Tommy Bell’s team never really looked like losing the tie and remain the only side with a 100% record in the League. Josh Lay also added, “We’ll be unbeatable. We’ll hammer Castle and wallop the Youth’s again. They made a mistake in letting me go.”

Wear Consulting 1 Hylton Castle 0
A rip-roaring defensive show from a weakened Wear Consulting team. Both the Mouat’s had derided manager, Tyzack, saying he wasn’t up for the job. However, using his vast knowledge of local six-a-side, Tyzack’s weakened side broke masses against Castle and took the lead, with Tyzack firing in the goal. After that, it was backs to the wall and excellent defending as Hylton Castle failed to break them down.

Redhouse Youth’s 3 Hendon Rovers 0 match awarded
Unfortunately, Hendon had to cancel the game on the day, which means that Redhouse Youth’s were given the three points in a 3-0 awarded win.

AA still 100%. Logan thwarts the Youth’s.

Mark Cresswell sent off for Sassco. Sporting hammer Wear Consulting.

Hylton Castle 4 Sassco.co.uk 1
Sassco saw red again, with Cresswell being dismissed near the end of the game. Both teams went in at the break with a 0-0 scoreline, but eventually Castle struck the opener with around seven minutes remaining.

Sporting Redhouse 5 Wear Consulting 0
With Tyzack banned, Wear Consulting had a threadbare team which was comfortably defeated by Sporting Redhouse. Catcheside and Anderson got two each while Scott Johnstone fired in the remaining goal.

AA Fabrications 4 Hendon Rovers 0
Tommy Bell’s AA Fabrications remain the only team on 100% with a resounding 4-0 win over Hendon Rovers.

Redhouse Youth’s 2 Castletown (Downhill Impact) 2
A great draw for Castletown. They took the lead only to see Kurt Baxendale fire in an equaliser. They took the lead again, until Kurt responded with a penalty. A 2-2 draw would be considered dropped points for the Youth’s, but Castletown look more than impressive.

Tyzack and McDermont see Red in a 1-1 draw.

Castle and Youth’s draw again. Wooton fires both for AA.

Brief video of AA Fabrications v Downhill Impact.

Wear Consulting 1 Sassco.co.uk 1
Sassco put out a decent side against a strong looking Wear Consulting. Gary Tyzack was frustrated and eventually lashed out against McDermont late in the game, when Sassco were 1-0 ahead. The dismissal affected Sassco more than Wear and eventually Wear Consulting equalised.

Hylton Castle 1 Redhouse Youth’s 1
Youth’s opened the scoring but Hylton Castle equalised in a superb game which swung from end to end. Both these contenders would be content with a point.

AA Fabrications 2 Downhill Impact (Castletown FC) 0
Logan took over the reigns of Impact and his useful looking side did reasonably well. They failed to prevent two excellent Wooton goals in the first half, but the second half was blank.

Hendon Rovers 3 Sporting Redhouse 0 match awarded
Unfortunately, Sporting Redhouse had to cancel the game on the day, which means that Hendon Rovers were given the three points in a 3-0 awarded win.

20th January 2009

Redhouse Youth’s suffer a surprise defeat to AA.

Sporting and Castle hammer Sassco and Hendon.

Sporting Redhouse 5 Sassco.co.uk 1
Yet another below par performance from Sassco as the Double Winners, Sporting ran three goals past them in the opening half. Lee Cresswell replied with a deflected shot, but two further goals in the second half meant that Sporting’s surprise defeat last week against The Youth’s was a distant memory.

AA Fabrications 1 Redhouse Youth’s 0
After their outstanding win against Sporting last week, the Youth’s were brought crashing back down to earth when Josh Lay’s scrambled goal settled their encounter against AA Fabrications. Ramsay had several chances for the Youth’s, but Carlos Middlemiss was equal at the other end. The defeat is a set back, but an important win for Tommy Bell’s team, who look like definite contenders.

Hylton Castle 7 Hendon Rovers 1
An overly bloated Hendon Rovers team suffered two quick goals as Hylton Castle, The Champions never looked back and never looked like they were going to get anything other than a handsome win.

Downhill Impact have withdrawn from the League, but we do have the possibility of one team coming in to replace them.

No games next week due to Sunderland AFC v Fulham on Tuesday night.

Redhouse Youth’s defeat Sporting Redhouse.

AA’s second half goals overcome Sassco. Downhill concede late to Hylton Castle.

AA Fabrications 2 Sassco.co.uk 0
A strong Sassco side suffered a second half defeat against AA Fabrications. Both teams were even in the opening half, but Josh Lay fired in a curling goal to make it 1-0, before “Yes, Trigger” scored the second.

Hylton Castle 2 Downhill Impact 1
Hylton Castle left it late for their win over Impact. Ed Morrison scored the equaliser after Hylton opened the scoring, but a late goal gave the Champions their second win as they remain unbeaten.

Redhouse Youth’s 3 Sporting Redhouse 1
A glorious win for the Youth’s. They opened the scoring, but then Mullen was adjudged to be in the area. Steve Anderson fired in the penalty equaliser, but Youth’s stepped up a gear and fired in two further goals to give themselves a handsome and impressive 3-1 win. And that was even with Yatesy in goal.

Hendon Rovers 3 Downhill Impact 2
A good performance from Hendon as they played against Impact (who’d played earlier). The Hendon side led 3-0, before a comeback for Impact.

Hendon Rovers 3 Wear Consulting 0
Match awarded to Hendon as Wear failed to present a team, despite being given their requested late kick off.

23rd December 2008

Sporting’s late winner over Wear.

Youth’s only manage one against Hendon.

Hylton Castle 9 Sassco.co.uk 0
A poor start for Sassco in the League coming off the back of a poor ending, despite a Cup Final appearance in Season 12. They only had four players, with McDermont and Richardson failing to show. Hylton Castle put them out of their misery. Daz Snowball scored five, while Kevin McClusky wrapped up the humiliation with two goals. Jordan Monson got one and Danny Hodgson (wearing white socks – oh the shame of it) scored the other. Recruitment drive for Sassco as their season has practically ended before it started.

Sporting Redhouse 3 Wear Consulting 2
A superb outing for Wear Consulting only ended in a late defeat against the favourites, Sporting. Keith Mouat scored both their goals, as they came back from 1-0 and 2-1. A late top corner scorcher from Anderson settled the game. Wear can be proud of their performance, but the end result is three points for Sporting, whose other goals came from Anderson and Walker.

Redhouse Youth’s 1 Hendon Rovers 0
Rovers, after Wayne Ramsay’s bad injury, came back against Redhouse Youth’s, but couldn’t prevent Kurt Baxendale’s early strike. It was a great goal, and the only goal. Youth’s dominated the game, but an overly defensive Hendon team, packed with defenders, couldn’t really create any clear cut chances.

16th December 2008

Hylton and Youth’s share the points.

Wear Consulting head the pack.

Hylton Castle 1 Redhouse Youth’s 1
Two major contenders for Season 13 kicked off after aborted games last week. Castle fired in the opener when Jordan Monson stole in to score. It was quickly equalised by Ramsay, as testosterone levels hit a new high, with both teams egging their own on. The score remained that way.

Wear Consulting 2 Downhill Impact 0
Newcomers, Wear Consulting, despite having a brief foray in the cups last season, come in as permanent members. Two goals in the second half gave them the win as they head the table. However, Downhill look uncertain and could pull out of the League. Time will tell.
